Congratulations to the City of Lynchburg’s Human Resources Department on receiving the 2016 IPMA-HR Agency Award for Excellence  – Small Agency at the International Training Conference and Expo in Kansas City.  The Agency Award for Excellence recognizes the overall quality, accomplishments and contributions of an agency’s human resource program that exceeds the normal operation of a “good government human resource program.”  Lynchburg’s department was cited for its workforce development continuum that supports personal and professional development for all levels of employees, high customer satisfaction ratings and innovative structures and actions that extend the reach of HR beyond the walls of City Hall to the community.  Margaret Schmitt, formerly serving as the Interim Deputy City Manager, and Catherine Henry, Human Resources Manager, were on hand to accept.
